Amid growing anti-China sentiment, Oppo cancels 5G phone live launch in India
Mumbai/IBNS: As the anti-China sentiment is growing massively in India following the standoff between the soldiers of the two nations in the border, mobile phone company Oppo cancelled the live launch of its 5G phone in the South Asian country, media reports said.
Oppo, which is one of the four topmost Chinese phone companies ruling the Indian market, was about to livestream the launch of its Find X2 smartphone on Jun 17.
The company has instead launched a pre-recorded video.
The anti-China sentiment, which was already prevailing over the Covid-19 outbreak, grew stronger in India after at least 20 Indian personnel were killed in a conflict with the Chinese military at Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh on Jun 15 night.
Oppo said the price of premium 5G 'Find X2' has been kept at Rs. 64,990.
