IIT Kharagpur launches educational outreach program on innovation & entrepreneurship
Kharagpur (WB)/IBNS: IIT Kharagpur's Rajendra Mishra School of Engineering Entrepreneurship (RMSoEE) will hold a virtual lecture series starting on June 22,, to discuss aspects of innovation and entrepreneurship, which is expected to benefit student start-ups, entrepreneurs, strategists and others.
Titled ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship in a Post-COVID World’, this 16-part lecture series, according to the organisers, will focus on emerging opportunities in areas such as data science, healthcare, education, agri-tech, energy, rural innovation, fintech, and supply chain interventions among others.
It will also throw light on precautions and strategies related to operations, execution, change in consumer behaviour, and short term financial management.
The course will look at innovative approaches to frugal product engineering, lean and cost-effective business modeling strategies and smart financial management, which are highly pertinent to start-ups in the present scenario, according to the institute.
This series will be conducted from June 22 to 29 over the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) platform and will also be accessible on other platforms of the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development, broadcast on SWAYAM Prabha channels, with course materials and videos available on National Digital Library of India.
Dr. Mrigank Sharad of RMSoEE will be coordinating the course.
Speakers include Prof. Partha Pratim Chakrabarti, who will discuss the Role of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Technology to fight the pandemic and its repercussions; Prof. Manoj Kumar Tewari, Director, NITIE Mumbai, who will discuss the drastic transformation of Supply Chain Network in the post-COVID world, its opportunities and challenges, and adaptability; Dr. Kris Singh, Founder & CEO at SRII, California, who will talk about innovating education and skills for digital economy
