Hindustan Zinc recognized with prestigious CDP ‘A’ score for climate change
Kolkata: Hindustan Zinc (HZL), India’s largest and one of world’s leading producer of Zinc, Lead and Silver, has been recognized for leadership in corporate sustainability by global environmental non-profit CDP, securing a place on its prestigious ‘A List’ for tackling climate change, the company said in a release.
Hindustan Zinc was recognized for its actions to cut emissions, mitigate climate risks and develop the low-carbon economy. With this achievement, HZL is now among a small number of high-performing companies that were scored, it said.
Through significant demonstrable action on climate, HZL is leading on corporate environmental ambition, action and transparency worldwide.
Speaking on the achievement, Arun Misra, CEO, Hindustan Zinc said, “Our inclusion in the CDP ‘A List’ is a recognition of Hindustan Zinc’s commitment and continuous efforts towards sustainability. ‘Responsible Mining’ has been at the core of our operations. CDP’s annual environmental disclosure and scoring process is widely recognized as the gold standard of corporate environmental transparency.
