Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan buys properties in Bengaluru's billionaire street for Rs 76 cr
Bengaluru/IBNS: Infosys co-founder Kris Gopalakrishnan has purchased two real estate properties worth Rs 76 crore in Bengaluru’s billionaire street Koramangala, according to media reports.
This was reported by Zapkey.com, which said former Infosys top official had also bought two properties on JP Nagar for a total of nearly Rs 113 crore.
Gopalakrishnan, now chairman of Axilor Ventures, an early-stage startup accelerator, and venture fund, confirmed to Moneycontrol that the two properties had been purchased in Koramangala.
“These are bought as investments,” he said in an email response, Money Control reported.
Gopalakrishnan was Infosys’ chief executive officer and managing director from 2007 to 2011 and vice-chairman from 2011 to 2014.
After retirement from Infosys, he has worked for promoting the Indian startup ecosystem.
He has been philanthropically supporting research on brain sciences, aging-related disorders, and healthcare.
The third block located in Koramangala is famed as Billionaire's Paradise for being the home to the country’s successful entrepreneurs, according to local brokers, reported Money Control.
Some of the residents include Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, Dr Devi Shetyy of Narayana Health, Flipkart founders Sachin and Binny Bansal.
There are six blocks in Kormangala, but the third block commands super high prices because of larger plot sizes and the fact that by billionaires reside there, brokers said.
