Bandhan celebrates convocation of NextGen Banker’s PG Diploma students
Kolkata: Bandhan Konnagar, the development work implementing wing of Bandhan Bank, recently became a part of the convocation ceremony for the first batch passing out the PG Diploma Course in Banking and Finance affiliated with MAKAUT.
60 students between 21 and 27 years of age have been awarded the Post-Graduation Diploma and all of them have already been placed in Bandhan Bank head office and several of its branches across the country.
The convocation took place in the Bandhan School of Development Management, Kolkata and Saikat Maitra, Vice Chancellor-Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal handed over the certificates to the students. Other prominent personalities like Partha Pratim Lahiri (Registrar - MAKAUT), Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay (VC – Sister Nivedita University), Ambalika Das (President – Bandhan Konnagar) and C S Ghosh, Founder, Bandhan, also graced the occasion.
The current batch was recently inaugurated by Dr. Amit Mitra, Hon’ble Minister of Finance, Statistics, Planning and Programme Monitoring, Govt. of West Bengal.
Bandhan has its residential learning centre at Rajpur near Sonarpur, which facilitates 210 residential students. Another new learning centre is coming up at Shantiniketan. This will be up and running soon and accommodate 240 students.
Chandra Shekhar Ghosh, Founder, Bandhan, said, “We are delighted to have partnered with MAKAUT and offered our students a highly pertinent course in Banking and Finance. We have created the course curriculum, keeping in mind the need of the hour. Students have learnt the practical aspects of banking here and prepared themselves to lead the banking industry in the near future. I’m glad to announce that all students of this batch have been recruited by Bandhan Bank.”
Saikat Maitra, Vice Chancellor-Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal commented, “We are happy to be walking hand in hand with Bandhan Bank and creating the most relevant course curriculum for the banking and finance industry. I am certain that while passing out, the students will be completely equipped with the expert skillset demanded by the banking sector. I wish them best of luck for a vibrant career.”
