Indian rupee drops by 40 paise to touch record low of 77.31 against USD
New Delhi: The Rupee on Monday slid 40 paise to 77.31 in the opening session against the US Dollar on brisk demand for the greenback by bankers and importers, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.
The Rupee was seen weak owing to a strong Dollar against other world currencies, amid weak opening in the stock market, the dealers informed.
The Rupee unit registered the days high and low at 77.26 and 77.35 respectively against the US Dollar, dealers added.
