New Delhi: India's April mineral production increased by 7.8 percent YoY as against the output in the same month last year, the government said Wednesday.
According to the mines ministry's data, the mineral production in the mining and quarrying sector for the month stood at 116, higher than last year in April by 7.8 percent.
The production of important mineral were coal at 665 lakh tonnes, lignite 40 lakh tonnes, natural gas (utilised) 2,748 million cubic metre, petroleum (crude) 25 lakh tonnes and bauxite 2,054 thousand tonnes.
Further, manganese ore, coal, lignite, bauxite and phosphorite were some of the minerals that reflected positive growth in April.
However, the production of some other important minerals showed downward growth, including petroleum (crude), limestone, copper concentrate, iron ore, lead concentrate, chromite and gold.
