Mumbai: The Rupee on Wednesday dropped 29 paise to close negative at 79.44 against the USD on rising demand for US Dollar from bankers and importers, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.
The local unit that lost 39 paise at 79.53 in opening trade slightly improved from opening level and closed negative at 79.44, down 29 paise as compared to its previous close.
The Rupee unit registered days high and low at 79.40 and 79.57 respectively against the US Dollar, dealer added.
