Siliguri: Bharti Airtel, India’s leading telecommunications services provider, on Wednesday announced the launch of its cutting edge 5G services in Siliguri, making it the first city in the state to enjoy ultrafast 5G services.

With this, Siliguri and seven other cities in the country join some of the most advanced nations in the world to have access to the superfast 5G technology.

Airtel 5G Plusservices will be available to customers in a phased manner as the company continues to construct its network and complete the roll out.

Customers with 5G enabled devices will enjoy the high speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the roll out is more widespread.

Currently operational at Hill Point, Sevoke road, Bidhan market and Orbit mall and few other select locations, Airtel will augment its network making its services available across the city in due course of time.

Commenting on the launch, Siddharth Sharma, CEO, Bharti Airtel, West Bengal& Odisha said,“I am thrilled to announce the launch of Airtel 5G Plus in Siliguri that will allow customers to experience an ultrafast network that runs on a technology which has the widest acceptance in the world and currently has the most developed ecosystem. We are continuously augmenting our network to ensure every nook and corner of the city is connected and consumers can enjoy speeds of upto 20 to 30 times faster compared to a 4G network.”
