Dish TV India launches Watcho OTT plans to boost digital content consumption at affordable rates
Kolkata/IBNS: Satellite television provider Dish TV has launched Watcho OTT plans, bundled packages of the most popular OTT platforms, including the very popular Disney Plus Hotstar, Zee5, Sony Liv, to boost its overall digital content consumption at an affordable price point.
Following a successful run on its original content, Watcho is expanding its offering by providing bundled packages of the most popular OTT platforms, thus providing its subscribers with a whole new world of digital content along with the convenience of a single subscription.
Watcho is offering content from Disney+ Hotstar, Zee5, Sony LIV, Lionsgate Play, Hungama Play, HoiChoi, Klikk, EpicOn, Chaupal, and Oho Gujarati via a single login and subscription model.
DishTV will further enhance its plans as more OTT platforms will join Watcho to make it a comprehensive destination and cater regional needs.
"We want to revolutionize OTT as we have done with the Indian television landscape with DishTV," said Sugato Banerji, the Corporate Head- Marketing, D2h, DishTV India.
Watcho has been steadily growing its reach and crossed the 60 million plus downloads mark at the end of the FY Q1 2022, he said.
"OTT viewers in India struggle to keep up with the latest content by hopping across multiple platforms. As the pioneers of DTH technology, DishTV India has played a significant role in changing the Indian television landscape.
"With rapid digitalization across the globe and developing consumer preferences, Watcho’s is moving a step ahead by aggregating video streaming apps (OTTs). This aggregation service lives up to the promise of “One Hai Toh Done Hai,” Banerji added.
The four subscription packs, Watcho Mirchi at Rs. 49, Watcho Masti at Rs. 99, Watcho Dhamaal at Rs. 199, have been designed to meet the varied requirements of customers.
While anyone can subscribe to these packs, the fully loaded Watcho Max at Rs. 299 will be exclusively available to DishTV, D2H and Siti Cable subscribers.
"Incorporating existing subscribers across different platforms is a challenge we need to overcome," said Anil Dua, Group CEO, DishTV India limited.
