India, gulf countries to start FTA negotiations next month: Report
India and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will start negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) next month, media reports said.
According to Reuters, Department of Commerce joint secretary Srikar K Reddy said the talks will start next month with hopes to close a deal by June next year.
He also said India is also working on a rupee-dirham trade mechanism and is in talks with the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the report added.
