All India Bank Employees' Association calls one-day bank strike on Nov 19

Hyderabad: All India Bank Employees' Association (AIBEA) has called a one-day nation-wide strike on November 19 in protest against the rise of increasing attacks by bank managements on employees, jobs and job security.

The strike was also called to protest attacks on Unions, right of representation, Victimisation and vindictive attacks on leaders, unwarranted transfer of employees from station to station by violation of settlements and sgreements and to destabilise and de-unionise the employees, AIBEA General Secretary Ch Venkatachalam told UNI on Monday.

Venkatachalam said the AIBEA has given the strike call after a discussion amongst the office bearers at the Central Committee meeting held at Indore.

He said in the past also there have been attacks of the managements in different Banks and our Unions have been fighting back the same. But in the recent period, the attacks are not only increasing but there is a common thread in all these attacks.

Hence, we have to resist, retort and repulse these attacks at the AIBEA level as a whole, the top Union leader said.

The AIBEA will serve strike notice on Indian Banks' Association (IBA) on Wednesday and all our India Bankwise Unions/Federations would forward the strike notice to their managements on November 1.

Venkatachalam said there will be demonstrations at all centres on November 18.
