MG Motor India reports retail sales of 3899 units in December

Gurugram: Automobile giant MG Motor said its retail sales for the month of December 2022 were recorded at 3899 units, which is a 53% growth over the corresponding figures for December 2021.

The twin challenges of the pandemic and those presented by logistical headwinds have had an impact on production, but the coming month could see an improvement across many of these parameters.

Efforts by the manufacturer to foster EV adoption in the country have continued in the form of multiple industry partnerships such as those for charging Station installations with JioBP and BPCL. A total of 150 chargers have been installed across the country as part of MG’s drive to support the EV infrastructure in India.

ZS EV, India’s first pure-electric electric SUV’s sales recorded a growth of more than 60% during the year, which is an encouraging sign of the acceptance of the carmaker’s e-mobility focus. The performance of the Advanced Gloster, launched earlier this year, has also been healthy.

MG Motor India's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Halol, Gujarat, has an annual production capacity of 125,000 vehicles and employs nearly 2,500 workers.
