Sensex up by over 300 points

Mumbai/UNI: The BSE Sensex on Monday rallied 399 points to 74647 in the opening session as buying was seen across the board.

The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) rose 95.75 points to 22,609.45.

The Sensex registered intraday highs and lows at 74,648.95 and 73,410.07 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intraday highs and lows at 22,623.90 and 22,550.35 pts, respectively.

The Mid Cap rose by 0.40 pc and the Small Cap by 0.60 pc.

In 30 scrips, 27 advanced, while 3 declined.

The gainers were Powergrid by 1.87 pc to Rs 283.50, Reliance Industries by 1.56 pc to Rs 2965.45, JSW Steel by 1.30 pc to Rs 867.65, Tata Steel by 1.29 pc to Rs 165.45, and M&M by 1.24 pc to Rs 2040.10.

The losers were Wipro by 0.85 pc to Rs 481.10, HDFC Bank by 0.12 pc to Rs 1547.50, and Nestle India Ltd by 0.02 pc to Rs 2537.70.
