New Delhi/IBNS: Zomato co-founder and Chief People Officer (CPO) Akriti Chopra has resigned from her position, ending a 13-year tenure with the company, reports said.
The news was disclosed in a stock exchange filing on Friday (Sept. 27).
In her resignation email, which was uploaded on the stock exchange, Chopra wrote to Zomato's leadership: "Deepi [Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal], as discussed, I am formally submitting my resignation, effective today, September 27, 2024. It has been an incredibly rewarding journey over the past 13 years. Thank you for everything. I'm just a call away. Best wishes to you and Eternal."
Chopra, who is married to Blinkit CEO Albinder Dhindsa, was a key figure at Zomato, a leading food delivery company based in Gurugram.
Her departure follows a series of high-level exits in recent years.
Former CTO Gunjan Patidar resigned in January 2023, just weeks after co-founder Mohit Gupta left.
Other notable exits around the same time included Rahul Ganjoo, who headed new initiatives and was previously in charge of food delivery, and Siddharth Jhawar, who led the Intercity Legends service.
Chopra is the fifth co-founder to leave Zomato in the last two years, following the departures of Patidar, Pankaj Chaddah (who exited in 2018), Gaurav Gupta (who left in 2021), and Mohit Gupta.
Despite these changes, Zomato recently brought back former executives Rahul Ganjoo and Pradyot Ghate to bolster its going-out business, according to an earlier report from Moneycontrol.
