Commercial LPG cylinder rate increased by Rs 48.5 ahead of festive season
New Delhi/IBNS: Ahead of the festive season, the Indian oil marketing companies have implemented a price hike for commercial LPG gas cylinders, with the new rates taking effect on Tuesday (Oct. 1).
The price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 48.50, bringing the cost in Delhi from Rs 1,691.50 to Rs 1,740.
In addition to the 19 kg cylinder, the price of 5 kg Free Trade LPG cylinders has also risen by Rs 12.
This price adjustment will affect restaurants, hotels, and other commercial businesses that rely on these cylinders for their daily operations.
However, there has been no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders, offering some respite to households.
The new rates are applicable nationwide and are expected to impact the cost structure for businesses dependent on LPG for cooking and operations, and as a result, this could lead to increased operating expenses for these sectors and potentially higher prices for consumers.
The most recent price hike took place on Sept. 1, when the cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder was raised by Rs 39, which followed a price reduction on July 1, when the cost was lowered by Rs 30 to provide some relief to businesses and commercial establishments.
