Noida: JSW MG Motor India collaborated with Vision Mechatronics to launch India’s first high-voltage second-life battery, integrated with an indigenous Battery Management System (BMS), media reports said.

The product, revealed during 'The Battery Show 2024' in Greater Noida, is part of the ‘Project Revive’ initiative and demonstrates a significant step towards a circular economy by repurposing used EV batteries for energy storage, reported Business Standard.

This second-life battery will be deployed as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) backup at an industrial facility in Pune, highlighting its potential for large-scale industrial applications.

The indigenous BMS ensures optimized performance, safety, and efficiency, advancing India’s eco-friendly EV ecosystem.

JSW MG Motor India’s Chief Growth Officer Gaurav Gupta and Vision Mechatronics Managing Director Rashi Gupta emphasized their shared commitment to innovation and sustainability, with plans to drive further adoption of repurposed EV battery technology for a greener future.
