Globsyn Skills finds jobs for 125 trainees in a single day
More than 23 companies, part of the ManpowerGroup’s serviced network, participated in the joint recruitment drive, which resulted in 125 trainees being offered job offers in a single day.
There were 286 trainees (graduates and undergraduates) from several districts of West Bengal who appeared at the drive.
The objective of the drive was to provide employment opportunities to students who have undergone skills training at Globsyn Skills under the aegis of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in sectors such as Banking, Retail, Telecom etc.
Globsyn Skills and the ManpowerGroup successfully worked out a synergy, where the former was involved in the skilling of the job aspirants, while the latter contributed by bringing job opportunities from various clients to the platform. Globsyn Skills imparts skills training and carries out certification of the trainees as per standards and processes set out under an agreement with the National Skills Development Corporation.
The offers, for 125 candidates shortlisted for jobs, came from companies that included Dish TV, City Style, HTC, Samsung, State Bank of India, Airtel, Future Group, Kredent Academy, Skipper, Gati, Gourmont Showroom, IFB, Eureka Forbes and E-Trans Solutions, among others.
Buoyed by the positive response from the recruiters and students, Rahul Dasgupta, Managing Director, Globsyn Skills, commented on the need for creating training programmes geared towards meeting industry requirements for skills at various levels, said, “The issue of sustainability (of skills development in India) is closely linked with aspirations, and aspiration in turn is associated with corporates respecting and recognizing the need for a skilled worker in our marketplace. We are happy that the ManpowerGroup has agreed to partner with us in recruiting our skilled trainees. We look forward to placing over 5000 skilled trainees this year from our ecosystem.”
