Dettol partners with Gurgaon Traffic Police to spread awareness around rising pollution
New Delhi, Mar 30 (IBNS): Dettol has partnered with the task force of Gurgaon Traffic Police, which tirelessly works towards improving traffic management for the residents.
To add to the agony, the high pollution levels expose them to the risk of respiratory problems and allergies. In order to acknowledge and appreciate their effort, Dettol has provided the recently launched Dettol Air Masks to the on-ground task force to help them prevent harmful particles, bacteria, dust and pollen which they get exposed to.
A recent WHO report had revealed that 13 of the 20 most polluted cities in the world are in India. Particulate matter (or small airborne particles) is among the most detrimental of these pollutants.
Studies link it with increased rates of chronic bronchitis, lung cancer and heart disease. Air pollution can potentially cause some dangerous allergies as well, including coughing, rhinitis, asthma, etc. Whether on a motorcycle or are just out for an evening jog, air pollution can pose a serious threat to a person’s health.
Commenting on the same, Navdeep Singh Virk , IPS Commissioner of Police – Gurgaon, said, "Dettol has supported us with Air Masks to keep 200 police personnel safe from pollution, when on duty in high traffic areas."
The Air Protect mask has been exclusively launched on E-commerce currently.
Speaking about the initiative, Arjun Purkayastha, Marketing Director – Dettol, Developing Markets at RB, said, “Dettol has consistently worked towards solutions for improving the health and hygiene of our consumers. We are proud to partner with Gurgaon Traffic Police as a gesture to protect their health from the rising pollution levels that they get exposed to during their on-ground duty.”
