Mumbai / Kolkata, Apr 11 (IBNS): Tata Advanced Material Limited (TAML), a subsidiary of Tata Industries Limited, has been recently awarded an extended 10-year agreement with FACC Operation GmbH., Austria for the supply of Rolls-Royce engine components. In addition to the composite engine components of the current contract, the contract will also include parts that will go into high-rate production engines such as the Trent 1000, and the Trent XWB.

The product line of light weight components, manufactured using state-of-the-art processes, lead to reduction of fuel consumption, improvement in efficiency, and noise reduction on the new generation aircraft Airbus A350 XWB and Boeing 787.

The agreement also renews TAML’s existing contract to provide cutting-edge engine components. TAML will now be the only Rolls-Royce approved composite manufacturing facility in India that holds over 35 individual special process approvals. This makes TAML a pioneer and leader in composite manufacturing and solutions that caters to the demands of aerospace, defence and industrial composites across the globe.

Sudhi Ranjan Mukherjee, Chief Executive Officer, TAML, said, “Our association with FACC began in 2009 for the manufacture and supply of composite engine components for Rolls-Royce engines. We are confident that the business relationship between the two organisations will continue to flourish and make a significant contribution to composite aerospace manufacturing in India.”

Walter A. Stephan, Chairman of Management Board and Chief Executive Officer, FACC Operation GmbH., said, “It has been a great journey for us to partner with TAML. This was only possible because we decided to work together to design and manufacture the best in class products and solution for our customers. The awarding of the contract marks the start of a long-term cooperation between our two companies. In recent years, FACC has invested heavily in the development of engine and nacelle components, which we expect to be introduced in new programs in the near future. These high-tech components improve engine performance and environmental compatibility while lowering weight and fuel consumption. It’s in this area that we see a high potential for expanding our cooperation in the coming years.”
