Guruprasad Mohapatra visits Mahindra World City

Jaipur, May 31 (IBNS): Mahindra World City Jaipur Ltd, a joint venture between Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited (MLDL) and Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO), recently hosted Dr. Guruprasad Mohapatra, Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Commerce, Govt of India.

The intent of Dr. Mohapatra’ s visit was to meet, interact with and provide guidance and direction to both Mahindra World City team members and representatives of the various companies operational at the integrated business city. 

As part of his visit, Dr. Mohapatra also inaugurated the brand new facility of Manu Yantralaya, a leading bearings and automotive parts exporter, at MWC Jaipur’s Engineering SEZ (Special Economic Zone).

Commenting on his experiences at Mahindra World City, Jaipur, Dr. Mohapatra said, “Well-planned and sustainable infrastructure solutions, combined with a supportive business environment, are vital elements for industrial growth in India.  It is encouraging to see how the Special Economic Zones at Mahindra World City, Jaipur, with 44 companies signed and 26 companies already operational, are driving the growth of the SEZ economy in India.”

Extending a warm welcome to Dr. Mohapatra, Sangeeta Prasad, CEO, Integrated Cities and Industrial Clusters, Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd. said, “We are honoured to have Dr. Mohapatra visit us at Mahindra World City, Jaipur.  MWC Jaipur’s SEZ exports have crossed Rs 4,500 crores till date, and we look forward to continued support from the Government, as we strive to develop sustainable, industrial ecosystems that create employment and drive economic growth.”

Dr. Mohapatra visited MWC Jaipur’s IT/ITeS, Handicrafts and Engineering SEZs, interacting with representatives of various companies operational in these business zones, including Infosys, Deutsche Bank, Metlife, Appirio, Girnar Software, Naggaro Software, EXL Services, KnitPro and Poly Medicure.  In his discussions with on-site companies, Dr. Mohapatra sought to understand concerns related to the larger regulatory environment, and to identify enablers for accelerated business growth.

With 25 years of expertise in manufacturing and exporting sheet metal and bearing components, Manu Yantralaya has 3 pre-existing, operational plants in Jaipur.  The company is expected to invest around Rs 50 crores in its new, green facility spread across 2 acres in MWC Jaipur’s Engineering SEZ, and aims to strengthen its presence across global markets including China.
