Kolkata, July 13 (IBNS) South Eastern Railway (SER) has launched a new initiative “Janani Sewa” services at major stations to benefit the travelling children by providing hot milk, hot water and baby food items.

This is being implemented in fulfillment of Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu’s Railway Budget Commitment 2016-17.

The facility is being provided at Santragachi & Shalimar stations of Kharagpur Division; Tatanagar, Rourkela and Jharsuguda of Chakradharpur Division and Ranchi & Hatia stations of Ranchi Division for hot milk, hot water and baby food.  Introduction of this service at important stations of Adra Division is on the anvil, according to an SER press release.

The Janani Sewa initiative has been implemented all over Indian Railways and the travelling people can buy children’s food from the authorized Station outlets against payment of nominal charges.
