Volvo Cars launches India’s first plug-in hybrid SUV

Kolkata, Sept 14 (IBNS): Accelerating innovation in the industry, Volvo Auto India launched the first plug-In hybrid SUV in the country, the XC90 T8 Excellence.

This latest model is the most luxurious ever in the 89 years of Volvo’s history.

XC90 T8 Excellence is based on the globally acclaimed and awarded SUV XC90; it further reinforces the company’s credentials as a Swedish luxury car brand. 

The XC90 T8 petrol engine is a no compromise equation of power and high fuel efficiency, coupled with World-class low emissions in a four seat luxury SUV.

The XC90 T8 is the world’s cleanest 7-seater SUV that delivers 49 g/km CO2 backed with an electric range of up to 40km which is more than the average run for most customers.

“The XC90 T8 Excellence sets industry benchmarks for environment friendly efficiency and emissions while enveloping customers in first-class Swedish luxury. It is not only a segment-first but India’s first plug-in hybrid SUV and we see a lot of interest from our more affluent customers, who prefer to experience ‘responsible’ luxury,” said Tom von Bonsdorff, Managing Director, Volvo Auto India.
