Castrol launches new engine oil to protect engines from stop-start driving
Mumbai, July 31 (IBNS): Engine oil manufacturers Castrol has launched a solution to an everyday city driving problem – Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start-a new engine oil which protects cars from engine wear caused by stop-start city driving.
Whether it’s on the school run, a short drive to the shops or a busy commute in heavy traffic, all that idling in traffic and waiting at various junctions causes microscopic wear in engines.
Castrol Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start has been developed specifically to protect against damage caused by driving in stop-start conditions.
Intelligent molecules in the oil cling to critical engine parts and form a self-healing layer of protection. Even if molecules are removed in the process of fighting wear, others rush in to restore the protective layer. Critical engine components are protected at each stage of stop-start driving, from the very first start, to the very last stop, and every stop-start in between.
Soma Ghosh, Vice President-Marketing, Castrol India, said: “Not many people know that stop-start driving can result in additional engine wear. At Castrol, we have spent thousands of hours in the laboratory and in partnership with one of the world’s greatest universities, developing an engine oil that specifically protects engine parts against the wear of stop-start driving.”
Milind Vaidya, India Technology Manager said: “We have developed Castrol Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start in response to a genuine issue on thousands of roads across the globe. Data from the Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start Index, powered by Tom Tom shows that on an average, drivers stop and start their cars over 18,000 times a year. India’s traffic congestion in main urban areas is something that is experienced daily, with stop-start driving a feature of people’s everyday commute. Castrol Castrol Magnatec Stop-Start is the ideal lubricant to provide the right protection for car engines in these conditions.”
