Ministry of Finance directs bank branches to be alert and reflect correctly cash deposit in old, new currency
New Delhi, Dec 11 (IBNS): The Ministry of Finance on Sunday asked bank branches across the nation to be alerted to reflect correctly the cash deposit in old and new currency and inform the customers about the same.
"MOF asks all Public Sector Banks(PSBs)&IBA to ensure 100% that deposits of new currency is properly reflected in the customers’ counterfoils," the Ministry tweeted.
"Bank branches in the country be alerted to reflect correctly the cash deposit in old &new currency and inform the customers about the same," it said.
The Centre on Nov 8 banned old Rs 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes.
