Mumbai, Dec 27 (IBNS): The Indian market heaved a sigh of relief on Tuesday with the BSE Sensex going up by 400 points and the NSE Nifty reclaiming its psychological 8000 mark, media reported.

According to market reports, value buying in blue-chip stocks such as Cipla, Reliance Industries and TCS largely propped up the market.

BSE Sensex was up 406.34 points at 26213.44 and the Nifty was up 124.60 points at 8032.85.

Some of the key stocks that gained on Tuesday were ITC, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, Lupin and ICICI Bank. Gail India was the top loser among the BSE Sensex stocks.
