Indian market ended higher on Wednesday, Union Budget 2017 futuristic says PM Modi

Mumbai, Feb 1 (IBNS): The Indian market ended higher on Wednesday following the presentation of the Union Budget 2017 by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.

BSE Sensex was up 471.67 points at 28127.63, and NSE Nifty was up 152.95 points at 8714.25.

Some of the key stocks that gained on Wednesday were Maruti, SBI, ICICI Bank, M&M and ITC  while TCS, Infosys, Sun Pharma, ONGC and NTPC were losers in the Sensex.

Tweeted Narendra Modi, "This year's Budget will transform, energise India & clean the economy from impediments that affect growth."

PM Modi also said, "Budget 2017-18 respects the honest taxpayer & paves the way for clean politics & political funding, which is strongly needed in a democracy."
