‘Amaar Kolkata’ metro to now have dedicated ‘Ola Zones’
The association will enable easy, convenient and affordable last mile connectivity for commuters through dedicated ‘Ola Zones’, at key metro stations.
The metro stations that will have an ‘Ola Zone’ are Esplanade, Park Street, Rabindra Sadan, Kalighat, Rabindra Sarobar & Mahanayak Uttam Kumar. Going ahead Kolkata Metro and Ola will further strengthen their partnership by adding the remaining 18 stations.
Piyush Surana, Director, Operations at Ola said, “Apart from building solutions that cater to various used cases, determining the commuting needs of a particular location, Ola has also aimed at integrating with the existing transport infrastructure within a city to enable sustainable transport solution. In Kolkata too, we integrated with the iconic yellow taxis to allow customers to book taxis from the Ola app. Metro Railways forms an integral part of Kolkata’s mobility ecosystem and we are extremely honored to partner with them and are confident that this association will help create and build last mile connectivity for lakhs of commuters that use the metro services daily.”
