Volvo Cars sets new benchmark in luxury SUV segment with New XC60

Kolkata, Dec 12 (IBNS): Swedish luxury car company, Volvo Cars, launched the much awaited New XC60 today. The new car replaces the highly-successful original XC60 which has been the largest selling model with nearly a million units sold globally as well as in India.
 

The new XC60 is designed to provide a wonderful driving experience with its enhanced technology, sublime comfort and robust preventive and protective safety features.

The newly launched model is priced at Rs 55.9 Lakhs Ex-showroom, India.

The new XC60 is designed to provide a wonderful driving experience. The exterior has an athletic sculpture with a subtle, timeless quality. With the signature Thor’s Hammer and Volvo’s tail lights the design provides a sporty feel. The interior is a masterful composition of Scandinavian luxury and beautiful use of materials. Trimmed in nappa leather fine wood along the dashboard that boasts of a 9-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen giving the cabin a lavish look and feel.

IntelliSafe technologies help protect not only the people inside the car but also consider people on the outside, for example technology that helps you to detect pedestrians and cyclists. When you drive at speeds up to 50 km/h, our City Safety collision avoidance technology looks ahead of you and brakes automatically if you are about to run into a vehicle in front. Our IntelliSafe technologies like Electronic Stability Control add to reassuring driving stability in all conditions without sacrificing the joy of driving.

The new XC60, one of the safest cars ever made, is fully-loaded with advanced technology. Steer Assist has been added to the ground-breaking City Safety system. A new safety system called Oncoming Lane Mitigation uses steer assist to help mitigate head-on collisions, while Volvo’s Blind Spot Indication System (BLIS) now uses Steer Assist functionality to reduce the risk of lane-changing collisions. These system enabled by radar helps the driver arrive refreshed.

The heart of the new XC60 is a robust diesel engine that has a Volvo invention – Power Pulse Technology. This feature spools up the turbo instantly therby negating any turbo-lag from a stop-go situation, Power Pulse provides a constant boost to the acceleration. This twin-turbo engine delivers 173kW / 235 hp and 480 Nm torque coupled with an 8-Speed gearbox with paddle shifts ensuring a smooth or a sporty performance. The new generation powertrains are clean and comply with stringent European and Indian emission norms.

Five types of drive modes – Eco, Comfort, Dynamic, Off-Road and Individual provides you a varied choice of settings apt for your luxurious drive to work or an adventurous drive to your weekend destination.

Intuitive touchscreen in the centre stack simplifies the user experience in the XC60, all the cars functionality are ergonomically designed to keep the driver focused in driving. The 15-speakers Bowers & Wilkins surround is unique audio experience for any cars in the segment. Adding comfort to the serence interiors is the Nappa leather seats with front seats ventilated for heating/cooling, massage and electrically adjusted seat extenders. The reduced cabin noise cocoons the occupants in luxury.
