Tirupati Vessel announces Rs 250-cr projects at the Bengal Global Business Summit 2018

Kolkata, Jan 17 (IBNS): Tirupati Vessel Pvt Ltd, a logistics support provider in the waterways sector, on Wednesday,announced a Rs 250-crore twin integrated RoRo (roll-on-roll-off) services and a Floating Haat Bazar project in West Bengal at the fourth Bengal Global Business Summit 2018.

Tirupati Vessel Pvt Ltd is a sister concern of Tirupati Vancom Pvt Ltd, which is one of the largest exporters of Dry Fly Ash in India.

Tirupati Vessels Pvt Ltd owns a fleet of deck barges, double bottom hatch covered barges, tugs and various engine capacities to serve diverse client requirements.

Rajiv Agarwal, Managing Director of Tirupati Vancom Pvt Ltd announced that a Rs 150-crore RoRo services project, first such project in Bengal, is expected to boost the transport logistics and move 500 trucks per day resulting in de-congestion of many roads in and around the city.

The project, which is scheduled for a formal inauguration, will help vehicles from the Port to directly enter the National Highways and other roads, the company said.

Tirupati Vancom is a key player in the movement of fly ash in the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol route through waterways.

The company has set up the first of its kind riverine floating unit at Budge Budge and has an export unit at Haldia. The company currently exports over 60,00MT of Fly Ash per month from both the facilities.

The Rs 100-crore Floating Haat Bazar - a one-of-its-kind project in India based on the mobile floating supermarket concept - is expected to be completed by next year.

Two mobile Floating Haat Bazars i.e.,mobile floating super markets, complete with shops, markets, cineplex and other modern amenities for entertainment and shopping, will move along the Hooghly and connect many cities and towns and reach out to the masses with multi-brand products and services, according to the company.
