SAIL supplied 43,000 tonnes of steel for the recently inaugurated Eastern Peripheral Expressway
New Delhi, May 28 (IBNS): Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) supplied 43000 tonnes of steel for the recently inaugurated Eastern Peripheral Highway (SAIL), India's leading steel and steel products manufacturer, has supplied the steel required for the building of the Eastern Peripheral Highway that was inaugurated by Prime Ministet Narendra Modi on Sunday.
SAIL, on Monday, said that it has supplied 43,000 tonnes of steel for the 135-km long Eastern Peripheral Highway.
The total quantity supplied by SAIL for this project included TMT Rebars, Plates and Structurals.
SAIL is also supplying steel for the upcoming Western Peripheral Expressway.
SAIL, in its release, said that it has been supplying steel for various infrastructure projects including road & highways, bridges, hydropower projects, rail & road tunnels, metro lines, etc.
Some of the recently concluded projects for which SAIL supplied the necessary steel products are the Kishanganga and Tuirial hydropower projects, Sardar Sarovar project, Dhola-Sadiya bridge, Chenani-Nashri tunnel, Agra-Lucknow expressway (which facilitated the landing of Air Force’s super Hercules), various metro projects across country, etc.
