Kolkata, Dec 18 (IBNS): KFC, maker of the tastiest chicken in the world, announced their entry into the 100th city in India on Tuesday.

With the launch of its first restaurant in Thiruvalla, Kerala, the 100th city to get a KFC, the brand has strengthened its presence across India.

The journey for KFC in India started in 1995, with its first restaurant in Bangalore. Today, over two decades later, the brand is delighting chicken lovers at more than 380 restaurants across 100 cities.

Samir Menon, Managing Director, KFC India, said, “Our consumers love the signature craveable taste of our chicken and this is evident through the increase in footfalls and orders. With nine consecutive quarters of positive system sales growth, the quarter ending September saw witnessed a system sales growth of 25%. With more people experiencing the brand and our food, we are focused on increasing penetration within the country. We plan to advance the pace of expansion by adding more restaurants and Thiruvalla is the latest city, in fact the 100th, to have a KFC.”

The brand is focused on expanding its footprint across India in line with its global growth strategy for the region. With a focus on product innovation, introducing new flavours and formats of chicken and expanding access through new restaurants in emerging cities, KFC is giving consumers another reason to visit their favourite restaurant.
