1.89 cr New EPF subscribers joined during Sep 2017-Dec 2018

New Delhi, Feb 25 (UNI) Employees' Provident Fund data suggests that 1.89 crore new EPF subscribers joined September 2017- December 2018, according to data released by Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation.

During September 2017 and December 2018, the number of new Employees’ Provident Fund subscribers during the period were 189,04,256, including 37,07,489 female and 1,850 others.

Under the Employees’ State Insurance , the Number of existing employees who paid contribution during December were 228,71,888, the Central Statistics Office said.

The Number of newly registered employees who payed contribution during the month were 11,10,263 for ESIC.

The estimated total number of new National Pension Scheme subscribers during September, 2017 to December, 2018 were 9,66,381.

Under NPS, the total Existing Subscribers who contributed in December 2018 were 49,74,854 while the total New Subscribers were 46,590.

Since April 2018 the Ministry has been bringing out the employment related statistics in the formal sector covering the period September 2017 onwards, using information on the number of subscribers who have subscribed under three major schemes -- the EPF Scheme, the ESI Scheme and the NPS.
