15000 companies registered in March: Govt data
Mumbai: Despite rising crude and commodity prices and the ongoing geo-political unrest continues to cast shadow on the business environment, over 15000 companies, including One Person Companies (OPCs), having a total authorised capital of more than Rs 19000 crore, were registered during the month of March, according to the official data released by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
A total of 15018 companies, including 813 OPCs were registered under the Companies Act, 2013 during March 2022.
The total authorised capital of these companies was Rs 19033.96 crore.
According to the data, during the month of March, Maharashtra had the maximum number of company registrations at 2939, followed by Delhi with 1513 registrations and Uttar Pradesh, which saw 1464 registrations.
Business Services category topped the economic activity-wise classification of newly-registered companies.
During the month, out of 15018 companies, 14926 were registered as companies limited by shares with authorised capital of Rs 19033.5 crore.
As per the data, as on March 31, 2022, the number of companies registered under the Companies Act 2013 was 23,18,063, of which 825771 were closed, 7012 companies were under liquidation and 44853 were in the process of striking off from the register.
