Arun Jaitley inaugurates Sydney branch of Union Bank of India

Sydney, Mar 29 (IBNS) Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who arrived in Sydney on Tuesday on a four-day official tour of Australia, inaugurated the Sydney Branch of the Union Bank of India in Sydney on the same day.
During the inauguration, the minister said that the banks have to play an important role in achieving the higher growth rate in the country. He said that the banks would be provided sufficient funds to recapitalise them. 
 
Navdeep Suri, High Commissioner of India in Australia, and Arun Tiwari, Chairman & Managing Director, Union Bank of India were also present. 
 
The Union Bank of India is the fifth largest nationalized bank in India, established in 1919.
