BPCL Q4Fy22 net profit dips 82 pc YoY to Rs 2,131 cr; revenue from ops jumps 25 pc

Mumbai: State-run Bharat Petroleum Wednesday posted a net profit of Rs 2,131 crore in the January-March quarter of FY22, down 82 percent compared to Rs 11,940.13 crore in the year-ago period.

For the full FY22 (April 2021 to March 2022), BPCL reported a net profit of Rs 9.076.50 crore as opposed to a net profit of Rs 19,110.06 crore in the previous financial year.

The second-largest Indian Oil Marketing Company's net profit declined as it continued to sell fuel at prices lower than the international market.

Revenue from operations for the fuel retailer came in at 1,23,550.93 crore, up 25.09 percent from Rs 98,763.80 crore in the year-ago quarter.

The company’s gross refining margins (GRM) for the year stood at US$ 9.09 per barrel and for Jan-Mar 2022 quarter at US$ 15.26 per barrel.

It added 1434 Retail outlets during the year 2021-22 and taking the total number of Retail outlets to more than 20,000.

The company recorded the highest ever market sales of petroleum products in Q4Fy22 at 11.82 MMT, compared to 11.17 MMT and 11.15 MMT in Q3FY22.

Total Market Sales was 42.51 MMT in FY 22, while Mumbai and Kochi refineries processed 30.07 MMT in FY 22.

The market sales and crude throughput have very nearly reached the per-covid level, the company said.
