Finance Minister Arun Jaitley begins presenting Union Budget 2018
New Delhi, Feb 1 (IBNS): Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley at around 11 am began presenting the Union Budget on Thursday.
He began his budget speech dwelling on the structural reforms by the Modi government and focus on a corruption free India.
He focussed on good governance and ease of doing business. He also spoke about free gas connection to poor and subsidised healthcare.
Before presenting the Budget, Jaitley met President Ram Nath Kovind.
The government on Monday tabled in Parliament the Economic Survey of India which projected GDP growth between 7 and 7.5 per cent in 2018-19, reports said.
