Govt announces DBT for kerosene subsidy, Ministry calls it a reform

New Delhi, Jan 3 (IBNS): The Centre has decided to soon roll out Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for kerosene.

The Finance Ministry has called it a reform.

As per the move, consumers can buy cooking fuel at market rate.

However, they will get financial support directly in their bank accounts.

"Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das tweeted: "Congratulations to Petroleum Ministry for announcing DBT in kerosene.Subsidy should be targeted and reach those who actually deserve."

He said: "DBT in kerosene:Reforms continue.Feel happy to have been part of the process."
