IMImobile wins 'Best Private Cloud Deployment' award
Part of the CloudGov 2014 Summit, organised by elets Technomedia, a digital content media company that specialises in ICT deployment in government, the CloudGov 2014 awards recognise the most innovative and successful initiatives and cloud based deployments in India.
With a focus on mGovernment, the judges evaluated entries on a number of parameters, including whether the entry demonstrated innovation, scalability, ability to replicate, impact and future potential.
The winner of the ‘Best Private Cloud Deployment’ category was awarded to the ‘Smart Meter Reading App’, built by IMImobile in partnership with Crompton Greaves, amultinational design, manufacturing and marketing company.
Crompton Greaves wanted to increase customer satisfaction and needed a solution that would allow them to monitor engineers’ progress as they record customer power consumption through meter reading, to ensure work completion and billing accuracy.
The ‘Smart Meter Reading App’ turns a smartphone into a multi-purpose business operations management device.
The app enables field force personnel to easily record the reading of citizens’ electrical meters, storing all information in the cloud. An offline syncing capability ensures the app’s usefulness in areas with poor network coverage.
Using the app, Crompton Greaves gains automated real-time feedback on job progress and engineer location, which has led to a reduction in the number of customer complaints, improved customer satisfaction, increased service efficiency and has reduced the number of power outages.
Vishwanath Alluri, Founder & Executive Chairman at IMImobile commented, “We are honoured to be recognised by the industry for our solution as the ‘Best Private Cloud Deployment”. As a mobile technology company, we utilise the latest trends, best practises and technology in mobile to help Governments better serve their citizens.”
The award was presented at an award ceremony held in Delhi.
