India-Denmark MoU on food safety approved by Indian Cabinet

New Delhi, May 23 (IBNS): The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given its ex-post facto approval to the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and Denmark regarding cooperation in the areas of food safety.

The MoU was signed on April 16, 2018.

The MoU is expected to improve food safety standard setting by getting access to best practices and facilitating food trade of important commodities.

According to a government release, the MoU will promote understanding of the best practices in the areas of food safety in both countries and in faster resolution of issues related to food safety.
