Indian market ends Monday on positive note, TCS shares rally on buyback news

Mumbai, Feb 20 (IBNS): The Indian market closed on a high note on Monday largely riding on positive clues and TCS shares.

BSE Sensex was up 192.83 points at 28661.58, the highest closing level since September 23 and  NSE Nifty was up 57.50 points at 8879.20, the highest closing level since September 5.

Shared of IT major TCS rallied 4 per cent after it announced buyback of upto 5.6 crore equity shares (representing 2.85 percent of total paid up equity capital) at Rs 2,850 apiece, aggregating up to Rs 16,000 crore, media reported.
