Indian Market: Sensex falls 65.66 pts

Mumbai/UNI:  The BSE Sensex remained weak for the fifth consecutive session on Wednesday, as it declined by 65.6 pts to settle at 37,668.42 as selling was witnessed in Power, Telecom, Utilities and Health Care stocks.

The nifty of national stock exchange too fell by 21.80 pts at 11,131.85 pts.

High volatility was witnessed during the day, as the Sensex jumped 390 pts to open at 38,124.94. It spurted 406 pts to 38,140, days high.

Later, it nosedived 421 pts to 37,313.09, days low, before closing at 37,668.42, easing by 65.66 pts from its previous close.

The sensex registered days high and low at 38,140.07 and 37,313.09 pts respectively.

The Nifty recorded days high and low at 11,259.55 and 11,024.40 pts respectively.

The sectoral indices like Power, Telecom, Utilities, Technology and Health Care stocks kept the market under pressure.

In scrips, Bharti Airtel, Tata Steel, IndusInd Bank, NTPC and Powergrid tumbled down however, buying in Axis Bank, Hind Unilever, Infosys, Nestle India and HDFC Bank capped from further losses, broker informed.

The Mid Cap fell by 0.33 pc and Small Cap by 0.07 pc.

In 30 scrips, 18 declined while 12 advanced.
