Indian Market: Sensex jumps over 700 pts

Mumbai/UNI:  The benchmark index of Bombay stock exchange on Tuesday surged by 794 pts to 34,022.01 in opening trade as buying was witnessed across the board amid strong global peers.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 74 pts to 10,046.15.

Tumbling down by 552 pts on Monday, the sensex zoomed up by more than 700 pts

on the strength of Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, HDFC and Bajaj Finance.

The indices like Metal, Realty, Finance and Consumer Durable lifted the market in early trade.

The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 34,022.19 and 33,839.70 pts respectively.

The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 10,046.15 and 9,983.65 pts respectively.

The mid cap advanced by 1.58 pc and Small Cap rose by 1.42 pc.

The gainers were Tata Steel by 4.54 pc to Rs 319.95, ICICI Bank by 4.46 pc to Rs 345.65, HDFC by 3.85 pc to Rs 1819.60 and Bajaj Finance by 3.28 pc to Rs 2427.45.
