Indian Market: Sensex opens at fresh high at 41,022.85 pts

Mumbai/UNI: The benchmark index of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday opened at fresh high at 41,022.85, rising by 133 points as renewed buying in Energy, FMCG, Finance, IT, Bankex, Industrials and Telecom stocks.

The Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE) too moved up by 31 points to 12,110.20. The Sensex registered intra-day high and low at 41,120.28 and 40,888.18 points respectively.

The Nifty recorded day intra day high and low at 12,132.45 and 12,063.00 points respectively.

The sectoral indices like Energy, FMCG, Finance, IT, Bankex, Industrials and Telecom kept the market firm.

The gainers were Yes Bank by 4.16 pc to Rs 66.35, ONGC by 1.30 pc to Rs 132.60, ICICI Bank by 1.02 pc to Rs 503.15 and ITC by 0.79 pc to Rs 249.75.

The losers were Bharti Airtel by 3.42 pc to Rs 435.85, Tata Motors DVR by 1.71 pc to Rs 74.75, Powergrid by 1.46 pc to Rs 195.90 and Tata Motors by 0.90 pc to Rs 164.55.
