Indian Railways freight traffic up 4.16 per cent

New Delhi, June 11 (IBNS) Indian Railways have carried 180.63 million tonnes of revenue earning freight traffic during 1st April-31st May 2014.
The freight carried shows an increase of 8.79 million tonnes over the freight traffic of 171.84 million tonnes actually carried during the corresponding period last year, registering an increase of 5.12 per cent.
 
During the month of May 2014, the revenue earning freight traffic carried by Indian Railways was 91.83 million tonnes. 
 
There is an increase of 3.67 million tonnes over the actual freight traffic of 88.16 million tonnes carried by the Indian Railways during the same period last year, showing an increase of 4.16 per cent.
