Indian Rupee falls 4 paise against USD

Mumbai: The rupee on Monday declined four paise to close at 83.16 against the USD on rising demand for the US dollar by bankers and importers amid a rebounding equity market, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.

The local unit opened on a flat note at 83.10. During the day, it fell 4 paise to finish at 83.16 as compared to its previous close.

The rupee recorded intraday highs and lows at 83.08 and 83.18, respectively, the dealer added.
