Indian Rupee falls by 19 paise against USD

Mumbai, Sep 17 (UNI) The Rupee on Tuesday lost another 19 paise to 71.78 on brisk demand for US Dollars, dealers at the Forex Market said.

The local unit dropped by 22 paise to 71.81 in opening trade. During the day it slightly recovered and closed at 71.78, sliding by 19 paise as compared to its last close.


The domestic unit recorded day high and low at 71.90 and 71.72 respectively.


The Indian currency remained under pressure for another day because of strong dollar against other world currencies along with sliding stock market, they added.


With this, the Rupee has lost by 86 paise in couple of days.
