Inflation for farm, rural workers dips in November; CPI indices rise slightly

New Delhi: Retail inflation for agricultural and rural workers eased in November, with rates declining to 5.35% for agricultural labourers and 5.47% for rural labourers, compared to 5.96% and 6% in October, respectively.

According to a labour ministry statement, the All-India Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers (CPI-AL) and Rural Labourers (CPI-RL) increased by 5 points each in November 2024, reaching 1,320 and 1,331 points, respectively.

In comparison, the indices were at 1,315 points and 1,326 points in October 2024.

The year-on-year inflation rates based on CPI-AL and CPI-RL for November 2024 stood at 5.35% and 5.47%, respectively, significantly lower than the 7.37% and 7.13% recorded in November 2023.

In October 2024, the corresponding inflation rates were 5.96% for CPI-AL and 6% for CPI-RL.
