Jammu and Kashmir: Sheep farming a profitable business activity, says Sidha
Anantnag/IBNS: District Development Commissioner Anantnag, K. K. Sidha handed over 10 ewes each among 12 unemployed youth/ tribal people/ sheep rearers, free of cost, for establishing their own income-generating units, today at Sarnal Anantnag under Integrated Sheep Breeding and Rearing scheme of Sheep Husbandry Department.
District Sheep Husbandry officer and other officers of Sheep Husbandry department were also present on the occasion.
The beneficiaries were selected through a draw of lots.
On the occasion, the DDC said that establishing sheep farm is a profitable business activity and asked unemployed youth to come forward and take the benefits of the schemes launched by Government in this section.
He assured the youth, sheep rearers, prospective entrepreneurs that Government would extend every possible help to them for establishing viable and sustainable Sheep units.
