LS: MTS launches Election Tracker
Bangalore, Apr 3 (IBNS): Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited (SSTL) that provides telecom services under the brand MTS on Thursday announced the launch of MTS Election Tracker, a live dashboard that showcases analysis of all conversations on the social media about political parties and politicians; giving internet users a sense of the current political discourse in the country.
The tracker provides real-time analysis by collating data from across the web as well as social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube and tracks mentions of leading political parties and politicians.
The election tracker has been conceptualised by Social Samosa, a social media portal that tracks the Indian social media industry with a hawk's eye and shares analysis and content.
The election tracker displays data in the form of bar graphs, pie charts etc.
According to Amitesh Rao, Director Brand & Media – MTS India, “As a brand focused on the internet, MTS has come out with an Election Tracker that is simple, credible and innovative. The Election Tracker provides dynamic data regarding political parties, candidates, constituencies etc and showcases conversations in the social media on all the action relating to the General Elections 2014. Simply put, MTS Election tracker is perhaps a one-stop address for anyone who wants to have aa sense of the current political discourse in the country.”
In addition to tracking statistics such as community size and the number of mentions, MTS Election Tracker also evaluates how each of these parties is engaging with their audience and the sentiments associated with them.
This data offers an in-depth insight about the social media presence of political parties.
According to Ankita Gaba, Co-Founder - Social Samosa, “New media has taken the center-stage and the dynamics of politics are now unfolding on a different playground: social media. Everybody wants to be involved, wants to have an opinion and wants to consume other active users opinions. Everyone wants to be looped into how and what of the political scenario. The tracker allows digital enthusiasts to do just that. We wanted a futuristic partner who understands that digital and social is the future and better still has digital and social in their DNA. The evolved brand that MTS is, made it a perfect marriage.”
